It’s an amazing thing, this thing we call music. When you spend time crafting a song, thinking about lyrics and drawing on the experiences of those who surround you to paint pictures in the minds of your listener. I always try to use my own life to write songs but sometimes a simple coffee chat or a heart to heart with a friend can spark something. Maybe a line or a thought and that’s what happened with the title track from my new EP.

So many people I speak to have issues or pressure on them. They fail at one thing and then suddenly feel the world on their shoulders, pressure in their lives. So why butterfly? Well firstly they are beautiful, they all have unique features and have an art to there wings. They come from something that’s totally different to how they turn out, they start out life as a caterpillar and go through this wonderful transformation to a beautiful creature. That for me is what we are all capable of doing, we are all caterpillars at some point, just muddling through trying to find that perfect spot and if we wait there long enough we can all become butterflies. Sometimes people just need a helping hand!

Fly High …. Butterfly

Carry over the wind

Fly High … Butterfly

If you pass I promise you

One thing, Everything, I wont deny…… Butterfly

The studio was fun! Recording the track was simply amazing! Having a friend play guitar on it made the whole experience an amazing uplifting time. Lanie Bartlett is an amazing songwriter and Guitar Player! She transformed the track even further and I’m so thankful she agreed to play on it. So on July 10th 2018 (My 36th Birthday) this 4 track EP is due out to the world and I really can’t wait for you all to hear it!
