So I played a gig! Another notch on the gig post, another night trying to conquer the dreaded Stage Fright. What a bugger this guy is, he shows up like 5 mins before I go on stage and manages to employ some sort of Jedi mind trick on me which forces such feelings as sweating, dry mouth, and the shakes. The first two I can get over, I mean I just sweat and take a sip of a drink, Sorted! But the third one is a nightmare! Like a true nightmare, if I shake I can’t string chords together. It’s such a thing, like a real big pain.
I guess the only way to keep going is to keep trying! I took to social media to get advice from fellow performers and that advice will be taken on board and applied in a positive manner. But the biggest flaw in my master take over the world with country music plan is ‘Why would anyone want to listen to me’. That’s the nightmare right there! I mean all my songs are about me, my ups and downs and my personal life. With that, I then struggle with people relating to them. So after a few chats and a few different people saying it, I will now play for me and hope the crowd wants to come along for the journey.
But its cool, if they don’t I will be happy with that journey that I’m on for however long that it lasts. But if they do and they can relate in some way that’s the coolest feeling right there! Anyway, I guess what I’m saying is the gig was ok! But now on to do it for me first and then hope the crowd comes along for the ride!
