That has an effect on my mental health and my well being, so I choose to simply do my own thing and just push forward elsewhere with music and life, but first a break and to be honest a long one! Then Phoenix will rise but not in country! Unless country starts to work with the music and get back to the roots of what made country a genre worth loving! Instead of the backstabbing bitchy gender hating culture that it is today.
Phoenix Morby is a traditional Country Music Singer/Songwriter writing songs based on his life. He is a reflective storyteller using his past experiences to transport the listener, and paint pictures with his lyrics. What started as a career playing guitar in various local Portsmouth rock bands and tribute acts, Phoenix picked up a Kris [...]
One song that I feel needs a little bit more love is 'Outlaw', I mean it's different, it's not an honest country song but it does tell a story and it certainly has a volume up to eleven kinda feel!
I sit and wonder what happened to the artist, the real songwriter who would craft a story or a piece of music that puts with the emotion only a writer can add. What happened to the bands of misfits who banded together to create a world where other misfits could fit in? Everyday I hear [...]

On May 10th 2020 I will be hosting a songwriters evening with the super Michael McMillan and the ever wonderful Donna Marie! Both come from the old school style of songwriting and yet again it really does showcase the Best of British Country.

I remember actually announcing the Cardiff gig, way back in May. It seemed like so far away and the build up was insane. Three singles and lots of songwriting in between and the gig came around so quickly! It seemed like just yesterday we booked it and it was over in a flash. The drive [...]
So I've been busy again, yay! I guess, but yes been busy, writing and crafting new music. Something I have noticed I do is get over excited, I write a song and get in the studio then bang! I hear it and rush it out to the digital platforms. Maybe what I need to do is sit on this stuff longer and put records out. See what I really suck at is promotion, like making a song and promoting it correctly.
